Post this on your mirror!

I just found this in an article on the We Are the Real Deal site:

"Treat your body like a friend and your scale like a machine."

Truer words were never spoken.

  1. exactly why i threw my scale away.
i was letting THAT number define me.
i'm much better without it and like to focus on more tangible things as indicators of my success.

    thanks for the link, Wendy.

  2. I really like that website. They have such a positive message for women to really embrace who they are at the moment.

  3. You are so on target about "how" we eat being important. I was so astounded when I really took time to notice my habits. I was shocked once when I took time to observe myself while eating drive through food in my car - My right hand was clenched tight on the wheel, my left foot pushed hard into the floor of the car, my neck and back tense and tight, and my left hand, shoving food in so fast I could not catch my breath. I was dumbfounded. What the heck is the deal with that. I couldn't even begin to sort out the pathology behind that kind of behavior, but it was a learning lesson for me just the same. I am better able to mindfully relax while eating since I started a regular meditation practice.
