A Thought from the Dalai Lama

Honest concern for others is the key factor in improving our day to day lives. When you are warm-hearted, there is no room for anger, jealousy or insecurity. A calm mind and self-confidence are the basis for happy and peaceful relations with each other. Healthy, happy families and a healthy peaceful nation are dependent on warm-heartedness.

I just sorta like this and thought my readers might too!

Hmm. Well, that leaves me screwed... LOL.

Actually, I agree with that part of his statement, I just haven't a clue how to achieve either state (calm and self assured).

Also, it reminds me of another Dalai Lama quote, which you and your readers may ponder and enjoy...and, appropriately, on the subject of HEALTH.....

When asked "What thing about humanity surprises you the most?", the Dalai Lama answered:

"Man... Because he sacrifices his health in order to make money. Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health. And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present; the result being that he does not live in the present or the future; he lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Pretty smart dude that Dalai Lama!

  3. Gosh, it has been a little while, girl, so I'll respectfully toss this quote into the circle for us both (and for your other readers) to consider and to share...

"A fresh attitude starts to happen when we look to see that yesterday was yesterday, and now it is gone; today is today and now it is new. It is like that--every hour, every minute is changing. If we stop observing change, then we stop seeing everything as new." (Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche)

I suppose it seems especially appropriate to ponder the beauty within uncertainty and change on this eve of our NEW YEAR! Happy New Year, dear friend!
